Elkhart County Theaters

One of the things that make Elkhart County such a unique Midwest area is you'll find theaters for motion pictures, live plays and musicals. That means if you've been searching the NorthwestLerner Theater Indiana MLS for the perfect home, you might not be very far from the arts too. There are three locations in particular worth mentioning when it comes to Elkhart County theater options.

First, is the Lerner Theatre. Formerly known as the ELCO Performing Arts Center, this small theater in downtown Elkhart was originally constructed in 1924. Over the years, the theater began to deteriorate; however, thanks to the work of a local commission with federal grants they were able to restore it. Today, theatergoers can enjoy a wide array of small yet entertaining productions. Second, for people who love live-action, there's the Goshen Linway Plaza Theater that offers standard and 3-D movie experiences of popular motion pictures. Third, there's Amish Acres in Nappanee, Indiana. They have Amish Acresthe Round Barn Theatre, which celebrates the 1955 Broadway musical “Plain and Fancy”, which is about Amish life and love. It also features other works from playwrights like Tennessee Williams, Alfred Uhry, Robert Harling and Neil Simon, to name a few.
